HAL WWDG constants migration

This section provides information about the HAL WWDG constants migration .

WWDG EWI constants

HAL1

HAL2

WWDG_IT_EWI

Removed; use LL_WWDG_EnableIT_EWKUP instead.

WWDG_FLAG_EWIF

Removed; use LL_WWDG_IsActiveFlag_EWKUP instead.

WWDG_EWI_ENABLE

Removed; use LL_WWDG_IsEnabledIT_EWKUP instead.

WWDG_EWI_DISABLE

Removed; when early wakeup is not required, the early_wakeup_time parameter of HAL_WWDG_Start must be set to 0.

WWDG prescaler constants

In HAL2, these constants have been removed and keep it in LL file.

HAL1

HAL2

#define WWDG_PRESCALER_1
#define WWDG_PRESCALER_2
#define WWDG_PRESCALER_4
#define WWDG_PRESCALER_8
#define WWDG_PRESCALER_16
#define WWDG_PRESCALER_32
#define WWDG_PRESCALER_64
#define WWDG_PRESCALER_128

These constants have been removed.

In HAL2, the user no longer provides the WWDG counter, prescaler, and window register values directly. Instead, the user specifies the maximum and minimum time in ms, µs, or s, and the HAL WWDG driver computes the corresponding prescaler, counter, and window register values internally.

If direct register-level control of the WWDG is required, the LL driver can be used.
